Item Description

"This classic Bordeaux red blend or “Claret” is an elegant, dry wine made with grapes from the renowned Entre-Deux-Mers (“between two seas”) region of Bordeaux, France. Here, sun-drenched vineyards on well-draining limestone and clay soils are situated between the Garonne and Dordogne Rivers. Warm days and cool evenings provide optimal growing conditions for the slow ripening of grapes and excellent flavour development.

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec -- three of the classic grape varieties of Bordeaux – were blended together in crafting this wine. Fruit was sourced from premium vineyards in the eastern part of Entre-Deux-Mers, a terroir particularly well-suited to these varietals.

An excellent food wine, enjoy this Bordeaux Claret with cheeses, game, grilled red meats, hearty stews and more." ~ Winery Notes

Downton Abbey

Downton AbbeyJust in time for Downton Abbey's 5th season, Downton Abbey Wines expands its portfolio with the Countess of Grantham Collection – a delicious selection of varietal wines crafted with premium fruit from California. The new world bottlings, including a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay, take inspiration from Lady Cora Crawley, the thoroughly modern, American-born wife of British aristocrat, Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham. Bold-flavored and fruit forward, the new wines are the perfect counterpoint to Downton Abbey Wines' more classically restrained Bordeaux offerings.
