You can't escape that hot-vintage signature in this wine. The Enrico Serafino 2017 Barolo Monclivio offers plummy fruit and blackberry preserves. Those large-in-scope and rather monotone characteristics take away from the more nuanced and graceful character of Nebbiolo. Though Monclivio is a fantasy name, the wine draws its fruit from very real sites in Serralunga d'Alba, Monforte d'Alba and La Morra.
