"The 2001 Gran Clos, a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Carignan, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, is a big offering. An inky/purple color accompanies sweet aromas of blueberries, blackberries, crushed stones, and flowers. It possesses a velvety texture, a juicy mid-palate, and a long, concentrated, full-bodied, tannic finish. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring, and enjoy it over the following 12-15." ~Robert Parker

"Saturated ruby. Blackberry, cassis and kirsch on the nose, with toasty oak spice and floral oil notes adding complexity. Broad, seductively sweet dark berry preserve flavors stain the palate, with sexy floral pastille and Asian spices building slowly. Tannins gain strength on the finish, but not at the expense of the fruit, which lingers impressively."

Incredible

"Such an amazing wine. Not sure why a couple people here rated it poorly, its possible that they got a bad bottle. I've drank it on 3 separate occasions now, and I absolutely love it. Great concentration, and well aged. Drink now! It will be on the decline in another 1-3 years."

Great Buy

"For $25, this is an excellent value for a high quality Priorat. Highly concentrated dark fruit, deep rich texture. Now 10 years old, it is ready to drink. Great with red meat or a heavy winter stew. Note: this wine contains a healthy amount of sediment and should be decanted."

Dave

Not worth it

"This wine is past it's prime by a few years. It was raisiny and lacking any appeal.Even if they gave this away I'd pass on it and for $25 you should too."

Michelle

horribly disappointing

"Even after hours of decanting, this wine was terrible. We tried it at a 1 hour, 2 hour, and 3 hour decant - only slightly improving along the way. Incredibly leathery, tannic, and devoid of fruit. Complete waste of money. It must have peaked more than a year ago to be this bad and still get those ratings."
