Move over Burgundy... - New York Pinot Noirs are slowly demanding the international respect they deserve, and the 2017 Forge Pinot is doing just that. On the east side of Seneca lake, Forge has committed to biointesive viticulture and organic practices. The wine is made using indigenous yeasts and hand harvested. Dark garnet in color, the nose offers baking spice, mint, and notes of bright red fruit. The first sip will surprise you with the balance of minerality and fruit, kind of a clash of old world and new world in the glass. I couldn't think of a better bottle of wine to drink while welcoming the upcoming spring months with a group of friends.
