A blend of 75.1% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10.9% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, this wine spent nearly 26 months in oak. It is rich, full-bodied, seriously concentrated, and has 2013's relatively serious structure and tannic clout. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 25-30 years. 95 and a terrific value

"Although this year Robert Parker gave this wine a 92, I feel from vintage to vintage this wine is consistently underrated. Lots of reviewers rate voluptuousness over nuance and complexity; I don't. I frequently buy cabs from Mt. Veeder, Spring Mountain, Howell Mountain, and Rutherford because I want tannins! Well, those wines are extremely expensive, and even wines like Keenan and Dunn are not better than this fabulous, cheap (again, Empire beats everyone by a long shot) age worthy Cabernet. Finally, if a $120 Dunn gets a score of 98-99, so does this, at $33. A stingy score from me would be 94-95!"

Consistency

"Wine drinks great no matter the vintage .. priced for the masses but drinks as a much higher priced wine . A 'Go To' wine ."

Nice wine

"This is a nice drinkable wine that has lots of dark fruit on the palate as well, as hints of dark chocolate and toasty oak. It is well structured and rarely disappoints Year to Year. It is a ‘go to’ Wine for incredible good consistency and taste. For the price, you are getting great value. Worth a try!"
