"The Nizzza DOCG area covers a relatively large and hilly area South of the town of asti and around the town of Nizza Monferrato. Formerly known as Barbera d'Asti Superiore Nizza, the DOCG was created in 2014. The Barbera grape has found an ideal habitat here, thanks to pedoclimatic conditions, which have proved to be particularly favorable to its ripening. Through an adequate thinning of the bunches, Garesio is able to keep the yield low. Ruby red color with purple highlights. Intense, complex bouquet on the nose with aromas of red berries typical of the variety. Hints of strawberry, cherry and sour cherries in alcohol. Velvety, harmonious and fresh on the palate with sustained acidity and a great, agreeable finish. Good balance between fruity aromas and alcoholic warmth. Ideal with pasta dishes and hearty meat sauces, red meat, roasts, and braises. Excellent with blue and other sharp cheeses."~Winery Notes

Garesio"Since 2010, the Garesio family has acquired approximately 64 hectares of land, 21 of which under vines, divided among Serralunga d'Alba, the heart of Barolo, Perletto in Alta Langa, Incisa Scapaccino and Castelnuovo Calcea in Monferrato. Along with the vineyards, the Garesio family has undertaken the job of renovating and upgrading an old farmstead in Serralunga d'Alba. The aim of this top quality hospitality project is the creation of a place where wine becomes a daily experience, a full immersion in the flavors, nature, traditions and history of an area designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014."

"Balance, respect and a deep understanding of vines and vineyards: Garesio "raw" material is naturally excellent. Each plot of land within the property has its own identity card and its own development, which is encouraged without excessive interference or manipulation. Their Nebbiolo vineyards are ceritified organic, an act of love and devotion towards one of the world's rarest and most prized terroirs, the other vineyards are managed according to sustainable viticulture."
