"Underscored by flashy new oak, this red delivers blackberry, black cherry, violet, graphite and toasty oak aromas and flavors. Offers a solid core, but needs time for all the facets to show. Delivers terrific balance and length. Drink now through 2027."~BS
"The Nizzza DOCG area covers a relatively large and hilly area South of the town of asti and around the town of Nizza Monferrato. Formerly known as Barbera d'Asti Superiore Nizza, the DOCG was created in 2014. The Barbera grape has found an ideal habitat here, thanks to pedoclimatic conditions, which have proved to be particularly favorable to its ripening. Through an adequate thinning of the bunches, Garesio is able to keep the yield low. Ruby red color with purple highlights. Intense, complex bouquet on the nose with aromas of red berries typical of the variety. Hints of strawberry, cherry and sour cherries in alcohol. Velvety, harmonious and fresh on the palate with sustained acidity and a great, agreeable finish. Good balance between fruity aromas and alcoholic warmth. Ideal with pasta dishes and hearty meat sauces, red meat, roasts, and braises. Excellent with blue and other sharp cheeses."~Winery Notes
