G.D. Vajra 'Albe' Barolo 2012
Not Vintage Specific
Wine Spectator 92
"Saturated with cherry, raspberry, floral and tobacco flavors, this red is solid and expressive. Bright acidity and dense tannins offer support, while the fruit, mineral, earth and spice elements linger." Best from 2018 through 2030. 5,500 cases made.
Wine Enthusiast 90
"(100% Nebbiolo) A blend of grapes from three Barolo vineyards – Fossati (South-east exposure), Coste di Vergne (South-west exposure) and La Volta (South exposure) - the fruit fermented and macerated for 30-40 days in stainless steel tanks with punch downs and was aged in large Slavonian oak barrels (50-75hL) for 24 months. Every morning you can view the sunrise from these three vineyards at slightly different times. Blending of the three vineyards allows us to use the special characteristics of each to shine through in this classic Barolo."
Great Barolo for the money
