"The 2019 Sancerre Rouge from Pierre Morin is a fine bottle of young pinot noir. The bouquet is bright and complex, offering up a red fruity blend of cherries, woodsmoke, gamebird, a touch of pepper, chalky soil tones, cedar and a nice dollop of fresh herbs in the upper register. On the palate the wine is vibrant, full-bodied, young and tangy, with a good core of fruit, fine mineral drive, ripe tannins and a long, nascently complex and promising finish. This has lovely backend lift and will be a delightful bottle once it is ready to drink." - John Gilman, View From the Cellar Issue 100.
Organically-farmed. 100% Pinot Noir. Gerard and Pierre Morin are a father and son team, although son, Pierre has taken over most of the operations now. Pierre harkens back to the past with the certainty that great wine can only be made from low yields and grapes harvested by hand with meticulous sorting prior to vinification. He prefers to work naturally in the vineyards and in the cellar: avoiding herbicides and using natural yeasts for fermentation.
