Tasting Notes
"This Albarino offers its fresh coastal richness with the kind of naked joy delivered in a freshly shucked scallop. That clean depth of flavor carries the sunny feel of the Atlantic coast in summer. The wine spends three months on the lees, in tank, developing white flower notes but no toastiness or excess weight. Its a fresh, bold beauty."

Tasting Notes
Pale golden color, with green hue. Complex aromas of green apples, grassy, citrus and tropical fruits; white flowers show up in a second layer. Mouth filling sensation with crispy acidity. Elegant, balanced and pleasant aftertaste with a salty after taste

The Wine
Etiqueta Verde, or Green Label, is the entry-level offering from Granbazn. The grapes are hand-harvested and de-stemmed before undergoing a cool pre-fermentation maceration which helps to lock in and amplify aromas and structure. Etiqueta Verde is made with a combination of free-run juice and lightly pressed juice. It is aged on the lees for no less than four months before bottling. This is a classic Salns Valley style albario. Dry, very floral, with crisp acidity, and elegant salty aftertaste.

The Estate
Granbazn farms 17 hectares of Albario vines in Val do Salns, the sub-region of the Ras Baixas which is centered around the town of Cambados. Val do Salns is the site of the oldest Albario plantations. It is also the coldest and wettest of the five sub-regions. The average temperature for the year is 55F and it rarely exceeds 85F, even in the hottest part of the summer. Grapes are trained in the traditional pergola fashion and soils are based on granite with alluvial topsoil. Granbazn supplements their estate fruit with long-term contracts with smallholders in the area.
