Item Description

The Hayes Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that embodies the history of what was once known as the Hayes Valley in California. The region was well known for its production of wine grapes for the missions that spread throughout California. The Valley had rich fertile soils and produced great yields to accompany high quality grapes. This Cabernet Sauvignon is made in an old world style, showcasing balance, elegance and a full bodied style of wine with bright fruit characteristics.
The color is bright purple. Aromas of black currant, vanilla bean and wet stone. On the palate, flavors of bright cherry, fresh herbs and vanilla. Pairs well with braised short ribs and garlic mashed potatoes.~Winery Notes

Hayes Valley

View all from Hayes Valley
Hayes ValleyLocated in the northern Central Coast of California, the lore of Hayes Valley extends back to the days of missionaries and the historic El Camino Real. The land was planted with wine grapes in the late 1800's, but the vineyards eventually succumbed to Prohibition. Agriculture was restored to the Valley in the late 1990's with the planting of new vines. The Hayes Valley is an ideal climate for growing grapes--cool, foggy nights followed by warm sunny days. Hayes Valley Wines are grown and produced at Clos LaChance Estate Vineyards and Winery in California's Northern Central Coast, which was one of the first 17 certified sustainable wineries in California. The winery is committed to producing the best quality wine possible while protecting the environment and conserving natural resources. As a family-owned and operated winery, it is important for Clos LaChance to maintain the long-term viability of the land for future generations.

Hayes Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

"Great value. Not as full bodied as some other Cabs but that makes this wine perfect for just about any occasion. Price can't be beat. This is my everyday 'go to' wine."

Robert

"A wonderful moderately priced cabernet sauvignon. Competes with the best and better to my palette than most in and above this price range."

"A solid correct cab with smooth medium tannin. Allow to breath to bring out warm tones"

"I'm generally not a cabernet fan, but this one is nice on the palate - not too dry."

"Last time I tried this was over a year ago. But I am not liking this vintage. Pretty weak, no real complexity. I guess it taste like an under 10 bottle. I would not recommend as there are many at this price point that are better. Or maybe I just got a bad bottle? I will update after trying it again as I bought a few. Oh well..."
