"This vintage displays ripe plum and black licorice followed by cedar, currant, and toast. The flavors are expansive starting with black cherry and fi nishing back to fleshy plum. The texture of the wine lets you know it's a Cabernet; deep, concentrated, but supple tannins
round out in the after taste. A complex and approachable wine that pairs with moist fish, grilled meats, caramelized onions and wild mushrooms. This wine will best be enjoyed from 2006-2010. "~Dave Guffy, Winemaker

As the first of the Hess Family Wine Estates wineries, The Hess Collection Winery was founded by Donald Hess over a quarter century ago. True to his vision of what a New World wine should be, Mr. Hess established his winery on the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder in the Napa Valley and defined a whole new approach to winemaking.
Along with its mountain vineyards, the winery has won acclaim for its other estate vineyards in the northeast and southern ends of the Napa Valley and has been recognised for its successful relationships with family-owned growers who represent some of the finest appellations in California.
The Hess Collection Winery produces three tiers of wines and has distinguished itself as a premium producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
