“Jordan always swims against the tide, eschewing overt oak and overripeness. The wine is more Bordeaux-like than almost any from California, with subtle hints of herbs and spice, a fresh, clean, mouthwatering profile, and reasonable alcohol. Stick it in the cellar for a decade or more.”-DM

“I love the 2015 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the winery's best Cab to date. I was there when they launched the 1976—introduced amid incredible fanfare. That maiden vintage was quite good; the 2015 vintage is where they want to be. TASTING NOTES: This wine is seductive. Its aromas and flavors of boysenberries, blueberries, aromatic flowers, and smooth oak accents catapult it to a special place. Pair it with roast turkey. “Pure elegance in a glass. Aromas of black cherries, pomegranate, dried cranberries and a hint of graphite channel classic Bordeaux. Its lovely, silky texture coats the palate with layers of black cherries and a touch of cedar from French oak’s fine tannins. From beginning to end, the balance carries all the way through. Enjoy now after decanting for 60 minutes or cellar through 2029-2034.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon’s red fruit flavors, silky palate and structure make it a wonderful wine for food. The classic pairing would be New York Strip steak or filet mignon, but the elegance, uplifting acidity and toasted oak nuance will complement grilled or savory roasted dishes, such as herb-crusted lamb, roasted chicken or grilled pork loin. It’s a medium-bodied red wine that won’t overpower more delicate dishes, such as mushroom risotto, ratatouille or duck confit. Blend: 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec.”-Winemaker’s Notes
“In 1972, Tom and Sally Jordan, a young couple from Colorado who shared an unbridled enthusiasm for French food and wine, followed their hearts to California’s wine country. Since their inaugural 1976 vintage, the Jordans have been heralded for their elegant wines, culinary excellence and gracious hospitality. Jordan Vineyard & Winery lies tucked into the hills of Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, where the iconic Jordan chateau, inspired by the great estates of France, overlooks 1,200 acres of rolling hills and vineyards with three quarters of the land dedicated to natural habitat. Today, second-generation vintner John Jordan continues to build upon the legacy of his parents, preserving the timeless winemaking qualities of balance, finesse and food affinity.”-Winery Notes

Founders Tom and Sally Jordan were maverick pioneers with a unique vision. They wanted to be the first to create a Bordeaux-style California Cabernet Sauvignon that was approachable while young yet aged gracefully. Located in Sonoma's Alexander Valley, the home for their wine would be an extraordinary chateau combining winemaking facilities, guest suites, and kitchen and dining areas under one roof. The couple set a standard for American wine quality and wine country hospitality--a top standard that is still held at Jordan today.
Under the guidance of second-generation vintner John Jordan and Rob Davis, the winemaker whose hands have crafted every vintage of Jordan since the inaugural 1976, Jordan Vineyard & Winery continues to innovate and elevate through award-winning wines and hospitality. From advancements in fruit sourcing, oak aging, precision farming and conserving natural resources to diversifying agriculture and creating new visitor experiences at our Healdsburg winery, Jordan maintains a relentless quest to improve with every vintage.
