This wine is distinctly varietal showing ripe, fresh red fruit characters matched with appealing, slight savoury French oak aromatics. The palate is bright and vibrant with a fleshy mid-palate and lovely length. French Oak barriques (5% new). Pair with hot ham, pork, chicken, light red meat dishes, grilled dishes, seared tuna, stews and casseroles, pizza and pasta ~winery notes

This wine comes from three fantastic vineyards in Marlboroughs Southern Valleys. The vines were carefully tended to ensure low crops and open canopies. The weather played its part to produce some of the best pinot noir fruit we have seen in many years. Picked over a two-week period in mid-March the bunches were at optimal ripeness, in perfect condition and with lovely flavours and great concentration.

Lawsons Dry Hills is currently the only New Zealand wine producer to hold both ISO14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO14064 (carbonzero) accreditations. We are a carbon zero certified winery having achieved the rigorous demands of the internationally recognised ISO14064 and received certification from Toit Envirocare.

This programme, initiated in 1997, is widely recognised as world-leading and was one of the first to be established in the international wine industry. SWNZ provides a best practice model of environmental management in the vineyard and winery. It is a proactive management system that enables winegrowers to produce high quality wine using environmentally responsible and economically viable methods.
