This Napa based ngociant makes a wide portfolio of Pinot, including several from the Willamette Valley. This is sharp and focused, framing moderately ripe cherry fruit with slightly bitter tannins. There is a touch of hard rubber and it finishes with a slightly burnt note; give it extra aeration to open up.

The nose is fresh and approachable, opening up with a vibrant mixture of sour cherry, rhubarb, iron essence and graphite. The palate is succulent and filled with tart cranberries and blueberries. Generous acidity and polished tannins bring into being a dynamic yet harmonious Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. ~winery notes

So much to celebrate following a heartbreaking 2020 vintage and its harvest-time wildfires in Willamette Valley. The 2021 vintage is outstanding; another hot and dry year in Oregon delivered balanced and beautiful fruit, resulting in deeply- colored wines already showing intense aromatics. Tannins are falling right in line with lovely natural acidity, meaning 2021 vintage wines look to be very enjoyable in their youth, requiring little or no cellar time.

AVAs & VINEYARDS: Eola Amity - Eagle Crest, Eola Springs, Popcorn. McMinnville - Hyland. Yamhill Carlton - Fairsing, Gran Moraine, Stardance. Willamette Valley - Croft

WINEMAKING: The fruit was 100% de-stemmed and underwent an indigenous ferment in two and five-ton stainless steel open top tanks. The grapes were allowed to infuse as whole berries at a moderate temperature, in an oxygen rich environment until pressed. The wine then matured in 100% French oak barriques (25% new) for 12 months.

ABOUT MAISON LENVOY: Driven by a tireless hunt for elusive sites where Pinot Noir shines, Maison LEnvoy, The House of the Messenger traverses the globe with the intention of presenting the acme of regionality and winemaking styles. With winemaking footprints in Burgundy, Willamette Valley, California, Central Otago and Tasmania, they champion many unsung growers who have farmed their vineyards for decades and generations, some mere feet away from more illustriously cited neighbors. This project has been a standout since its debut in 2011 including Wine & Spirits naming Maison LEnvoy a Winery To Watch in 2015.
About Maison L’envoye
For some 20+ years, Old Bridge Cellars, led by Rob Buono and Gavin Speight, has imported, marketed and produced wines from a handful of fiercely independent wineries in the world's leading wine regions. Their parameters have remained the same and are, simply, that the wineries they represent remain true to their regions and true to themselves.

Fast forward to 2011, when a mutual friend innocently suggested that Gavin Speight meet the then stranger, Mark Tarlov, for lunch. It didn't take long for the two to get fired up and interested in working together in Burgundy. Immersed in a religion of Pinot Noir, so to speak, their drive has evolved to make regionally expressive Pinot Noir from the best vine rows around the world.
