On the palate, silky textures are laced with a mix of sweet cherry and spice, with cooling minerals and a buzz of brisk acidity. It finishes with a twang of spicy red berries, yet its still sweet and soothing to the senses. So fresh, so tactile, and simply a joy to taste."~Eric Guido

"Lagrein is the grape for Rose! The bold and dramatic flavors in this scintillating wine won't let you take Rose' lightly anymore. Outside of Bolzano in the middle of the Italian Alps is one of the best wine zones in Italy, producing powerful red wines made from Lagrein, a genetic descendent of Syrah. The nose is full of fresh, bright red cherry, with strawberry, cherry, and subtle herbal flavors following through on the palate. With crisp, mouthwatering acidity and complex minerality, this Rosato is an incredible value!"~Distributor Notes

Muri Gries

View all from Muri Gries
Muri Gries"The ancient monastery of Muri-Gries, located just south of the Bremmer Pass in Süd Tyrol is the source for a bevy of clean, complex and classy wines made from the traditional grapes of this beautiful region. Muri-Gries remains a working Benedictine monastery, which was originally built in the late eleventh century as a fortress. In the fourteenth century, the fortress was donated to a local group of monks and converted into a monastery. Brothers of the Benedictine order arrived here from neighboring Switzerland in 1845 to take up residence in the recently abandoned site, and immediately brought their more sophisticated viticultural approach to the monastery's wines. Muri-Gries began to produce DOC wines in 1947, and since then the monastery has won local fame for the high quality of its wines, and is now becoming well-known to Italian wine-loving insiders throughout Europe and the US."
