" A perfect example of Lodi terroir, this Pinot expresses big fruit and ample richness for the varietal. The nose pops with lots of floral tones, cherry, raspberry and hints of blackberry. The blackberry notes, from the blended Zinfandel, gives this wine its distinct Lodi character. The palate is soft and round, with good weight for the varietal, yet still maintains the gentle acidity in the mid-palate that is distinctively Pinot. "~ Winery notes

Oak Ridge Winery

View all from Oak Ridge Winery
Oak Ridge WineryOak Ridge Winery is the oldest operating winery in Lodi, California, built in 1934. It is owned by the Maggio & Reynolds families, and produces estate wines under several separate wine labels. The winery itself was once a wine-making cooperative, which the Maggio and Reynolds families purchased in 2002. They had a vision that went well beyond dusting off a piece of local history. They renamed it

Oak Ridge Winery and began by modernizing the facilities, transforming it into a state-of-the-art winery.

The wines are made from 7,500 acres of estate vineyards throughout the Lodi American Viticultural Area (AVA). The winery and vineyards are situated between the Sierra Nevada foothills and the San Francisco Bay.

The area's uniquely Mediterranean climate, with warm days and coastal evening breezes, is ideal for the cultivation of world-class wine grapes. California's top varietals thrive here, with zinfandel being a singular phenomenon. Vines, some over 100 years old, produce small yields of intensely flavored fruit to create wines that are the ultimate expression of the terroir.

In 2002, the families began an extensive and comprehensive renovation that transformed Oak Ridge Winery into a state-of-the-industry facility, capable of meeting the quality, style, and volume demands of a growing and evolving global marketplace.

But the company is more than just bricks, mortar, tanks and barrels. They have assembled a team of passionate, committed industry professionals with the knowledge and experience to create wonderful wines from vineyard to bottle, from winery to table. Our goal is to over-deliver every step of the way.

Today the winery produces several brands in addition to Oak Ridge Winery, including OZV, Old Soul, 3 Girls, Maggio, Moss Roxx, and Lodi Estates.

Tastes Like a $40 Wine

"I bought this at my local wine shop which has graduated from hood status to yuppie with the influx of newcomers. As a designer I liked the label and as a father of two in an overpriced neighborhood I liked the price. Sipping this over Thanksgiving, my wife and I were pleasantly surprised at the quality and rich smokiness of this Pinot Noir. Dark Horse Red use to be my #1 "hood wine" (anything less than $15). This is the new king in my cellar - or kitchen pantry."
