Aromatics of blueberry, blackberry, herbs, peppery spice and a touch of bakers chocolate. Those aromas are mirrored onto the palate with the addition of welcome acidity and silky soft tannins. In 2018, the blend is basically 90 Barbera and 10 Dolcetto, but that doesn't account for the small amounts of Croatina, Freisa, Slarina, Brachetto, and Aleatico, which all make their way into the final blend.
Fermentation is spontaneous and occurring in concrete vats, with macerations lasting 1 month. Aging is also in concrete.
