"A great example of Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, O'Shaughnessy's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder offers compelling nuance and pure power. The flavors are bright, vibrant and beautifully focused throughout. Sweet floral and spice notes add aromatic intrigue, but above all else, the 2014 is a wine of textural richness. This is a great example of the vintage. -- Antonio Galloni"

"The blockbuster 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 100% from Mt. Veeder. This is magnificent, with blue and black fruits galore, a dense, opaque purple color, and notes of creamy oak interwoven with enormous quantities of highly extracted fruit and velvety tannins in a voluptuously textured, multi-layered stunner. This wine still shows plenty of grip and tannin, so give it 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 30 years. This is a big-time winner."

In 1996 after years of searching, Betty O'Shaughnessy Woolls and Paul Woolls began what today is known as the O'Shaughnessy Estate Winery. This event was solidified by the acquisition of land in Howell Mountain, Mt. Veeder and Oakville. Today these seasoned vineyards yield quality fruit that reflects the effort of the O'Shaughnessy team; a process beginning in the mid-nineties resulting with their first bottling in 2002. Winemaker Sean Capiaux crafts wines in a nuevo style, classic wines with modern implements, specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon with supportive roles played by other Bordeaux varieties; Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, Carmenere, St. Macaire, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. From inception, the process of meticulous clonal selection and site location has resulted in rich, complex wines that will continue to evolve for many years to come.
