It offers a brilliantly pure, seamless bouquet of crme de cassis, toasted spice, new saddle leather, and leafy herbs and lavender. Deep, rich, and multi-dimensional on the palate, it's a full-bodied, layered, awesome entry level wine that can be drunk today with tons of pleasure or cellared for 15-20 years."

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is blended of 80 Cabernet Sauvignon, 8 Malbec, 5 Merlot, 3 St. Macaire, 2 Cabernet Franc and 2 Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it reveals notions of scorched earth, tar, tilled black soil and fungi over a core of blackcurrant cordial, aniseed, dark chocolate and espresso plus a waft of tobacco. Full-bodied, concentrated and very earthy in the mouth, the rich, black fruits are superbly framed by firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and mineral laced."

Vinous Media 94
"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is gorgeous. Vibrant and focused, with tons of savory energy, the Napa Valley Cabernet is once again a huge overachiever in this range. An exotic mlange of black cherry, plum, pomegranate, blood orange, chocolate, savory herb, leather and sage builds into the deep, resonant finish. Most of this fruit is young-vine Cabernet from the Wools Ranch on Mt. Veeder. O'Shaughnessy's Napa Valley Cabernet is the hidden gem in this range and also one of the very finest wines in its peer group. Don't miss it. -- Antonio Galloni"

James Suckling 93
"A very richly fruited blend of mostly cabernet sauvignon with cabernet franc and petit verdot. Ample plum and toasty oak intermingle on the nose. The palate has a sense of deep concentration, plushness and freshness with plums and blackberries holding vibrant into the finish. Drink or hold. Publish Date: Monday, November 19, 2018"

The Estate
OShaughnessy Estate Winery sits at 1,800 feet on the heralded Howell Mountain appellation in the beautiful Napa Valley. Founded in 1996, the estate encompasses one hundred and twenty acres.

Winemaker Sean Capiaux has overseen the planting of the vineyard and selected numerous clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and all seven of the historic Bordeaux varietals for this unique property.

OShaughnessy Estate Winery uses modern equipment to produce non-interventionist wines that are naturally fermented and bottled unfined and unfiltered. These techniques allow the varietal character and terroir of OShaughnessy Estate vineyards to be the stars of the show.

O'ShaughnessyIn 1996 after years of searching, Betty O'Shaughnessy Woolls and Paul Woolls began what today is known as the O'Shaughnessy Estate Winery. This event was solidified by the acquisition of land in Howell Mountain, Mt. Veeder and Oakville. Today these seasoned vineyards yield quality fruit that reflects the effort of the O'Shaughnessy team; a process beginning in the mid-nineties resulting with their first bottling in 2002. Winemaker Sean Capiaux crafts wines in a nuevo style, classic wines with modern implements, specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon with supportive roles played by other Bordeaux varieties; Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, Carmenere, St. Macaire, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. From inception, the process of meticulous clonal selection and site location has resulted in rich, complex wines that will continue to evolve for many years to come.
