"The 2019 Barbaresco Serraboella is fresh, floral and quite delicate. Bright acids lift a core of red fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper. Nervy and quite aromatic, the 2019 is super-impressive today. I especially like the mineral drive. Give this sinewy, taut Barbaresco a few years to soften. This is another compelling set of wines from Paitin. The 2019s are silky, beautifully perfumed wines. Harvest took place between October 5 and 14, with good diurnal shifts in the final phase of ripening. The 2020s I tasted from cask point to a year with a bit more body and overall textural richness. New wines introduced over the last few years point to a historic estate that feels re-energized by the younger generation, which is great to see.
