Pala I Fiori Vermentino 2016
Not Vintage Specific
Item Number: 26883
James Suckling 90
"A dense and rich white with cooked apple, candied pineapple and a yeasty undertone that follow through to a full palate with plenty of fruit. Exotic style. Drink now."
Straw-colored with greenish reflections. Persistent floral and herbaceous aromas with notes of thyme. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with good balance and a long, slightly briny finish makes it a perfect companion to any shellfish. Also served with seafood dishes and lightly seasoned soups.
Originally called Crabilis (the actual name of the vineyard where the vermentino grows), the wine is now renamed i Fiori (the flowers) in honor of Sardinia's biodiversity. The flower on the label is an endemic plant of the island. After harvest and gentle pressing, the wine is fermented in steel tanks where it rests for a few months before bottling.
