Item Description
"This is a richly textured wine, but it still has the backbone and balance one associates with Russian River Chardonnays. Flavors of Meyer lemon and Bosc pear mingle with the toasted oak components of carmalized brown spices, resulting in a rich, sensuous wine that coats the mouth with a long, silky finish" ~ Winery notes

Picket Fence wines grew out of a desire to create handcrafted wines that reflect the awe-inspiring appeal of Sonoma County's Russian River and Alexander Valleys. This spectacular region is a place of unparalleled beauty with unique growing conditions and vineyards. It is the coolest appellation in Sonoma County with diverse soils and microclimates owing to its tumultuous geological history.
In the summer evenings a thick fog pours into the valleys, sometimes dropping the temperature 40 degrees; then steadily retreats to the nearby coast by mid-morning leaving sunlit days. These specific climate conditions allow the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly having long hang time on the vine which allows full, rich flavors to develop. These make for some of the best conditions recognized for growing world class Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. When we decided to make a wine together, we embraced the Russian River Valley as our winemaking home.
Expertly grown and harvested, our grapes are a true expression of the soil and climate that specifically defines the two Valleys. Created in small lots, Picket Fence Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon celebrate our passion for the Russian River & Alexander Valley and our sentiment that wine is a way of bringing family and friends together. We invite you to celebrate life with Picket Fence Wines.
