"My first question with this wine is: Can a wine have an attitude before one even tries it? This wine's label art and story are pretty clever and makes me what to know more about it. The 2016 Prisoner Wine Company Snitch has a lot behind it. TASTING NOTES: This wine is rich and sassy. Its aromas and flavors of dried peach skin, tart citrus, oak, and mineral invite a pairing with oven baked chicken thighs accented with a delicate mango chutney and dried red pepper flakes. Oh, and yes the wine's flavors does match its attitude."
“When creating their wines, The Prisoner Wine Company always look for fresh approaches to traditional varietals. For The Snitch, they combined Chardonnay from exceptional vineyards in warm Oak Knoll and cool-climate Carneros with just a touch of Roussanne. The result is bright and rich with an unexpected something special.
Fresh tropical fruit, apple, and pear on the nose. The palate offers richness balanced by bright acidity.”-Winemaker’s Notes
“The Prisoner Wine Company’s winemaking team works with a family of growers to source a diverse variety of grapes from premier vineyards throughout California. The resulting wines are interesting blends of distinct quality and character.”-Winery Notes
"We are minimalist and believe it’s up to the grapes to do their thing. It’s our job to provide the best environment for them to do so, whether it’s during fermentation, barrel aging, or preparing for bottling. Ultimately, all of the wines and their related vineyards have their own personality and we work hard to let each one express itself in the best way." - Chrissy Wittmann, Winemaker
Rich and bright with strong floral notes.
