65% Corvina, 25% Merlot and 10% Teroldego
The Merlot and Teroldego grapes are dried for about 20 days and then destemmed and crushed together. The Corvina grapes are crushed separately directly after harvest. The three varieties are combined prior to fermentation. Aged in 30% new French barriques and 70% Slavonian oak barrels for 8 months, followed by 6 months aging in bottle before release.
Bright ruby red color. On the nose wild rose jam, currant, red fruits and hints of dried flowers. Spicy cinnamon, black pepper, cloves and cardamom, balsamic notes of resin. Enveloping on the palate, fresh, lightly tannic, with an intense and persistent finish.
A tribute to the three love knotes depicted on the heraldic coat of arms of our family and expression of the new appellation Igt Trevenezie. The new born in the Farina house sees the encounter between Merlot and Teroldego grapes, slightly dried, and the fresh Corvina, the autochthonous grape par excellence of the Veronese, to give its typical spicy note. “Nodo d’amore” emphasizes the careful research of the grape varieties and the choice of a vinification with innovative technologies, respecting nature and the typicality of the different terroirs of which it is an interpreter. The name Nodo d'Amore - Knot of Love in English - is a tribute to the three knots in the Farina coat of arms.

Farina's efforts have been recognized worldwide. In 2015, Farina was named "Best Italian Wine Producer of the Year" at the 46th International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) and aslo received a Gold award for the best variety of indigenous grape with their Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva Montefante 2010. At the 48th IWSC in 2017, they were awarded the 2017 Silver Trophy for the Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Montefante 2011 and Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico 2014 and the 2017 Bronze Trophy for the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore Montecorna 2015 and Bianco del Veneto IGT Appassilento 2016.
On January 30th, 2016 the 13th Anteprima of Reds from Valpolicella took place in VERONA and the 2012 Farina Amarone Classico was awarded first prize out of 76 wines. The blind jury was composed of renowned sommelier Luca Gardini, Pier Bergonzi, director of the Gazzetta dello Sport , the Master of Wine Christy Canterbury, Raul Salama, and journalist Marco Tonelli.
Luca Gardini, one of Italy's most famous sommeliers, ranked the 2012 Amarone della Valpolicella as 29th out of his lineup of the 50 best wines in the world.
