Introduction
RouteStock is an invitation to discover the deep roots of winemaking in Napa and Sonoma, planted firmly at each step of your journey through our vineyard sites. Every glass tells the story of Napa and Sonoma’s remarkable fine wine heritage, from the famous routes that wind between the vineyards, to the roots that produce its world-renowned grapes. An endeavor of enduring Napa-based importer Wilson Daniels, RouteStock is established as a product that consistently over-delivers in quality at a very attractive price point.

At the core of RouteStock is our commitment to sourcing great fruit from high-end vineyards along well-known routes in the Napa Valley. We partner with a select group of dedicated grape growers in the best viticultural areas for each of our varietals and we work hand-in-hand with all our growers during the cultivation season. We practice minimal intervention in our winemaking to help the grapes show their true character, using native yeasts, natural malolactic fermentation, 100% barrel aging, and no chemical additions. Our intent is to let the grapes and vintage tell us what kind of wine they should be – we never try to force the wine into a specific mold, but rather serve as a guide on its journey.

Vineyard Profile
Grape Source: Since the beginning of this wine as part of the RouteStock portfolio, we have had two consistent vineyard sources. With this vintage, we are delighted to add our estate vineyard, located in the Sebastopol Hills, into the mix. Our estate vineyard makes up 40% of the final blend and our other two sources making up the balance.

Appellation: Sonoma Coast

Vintage Report
2021 was marked by no wildfires but was a smaller vintage. It was a nicely even vintage with bud break, flowering, and veraison all happening at “normal” times. There was a heat burst around Labor Day that helped speed things along to a mid-September harvest under ideal conditions. We picked our Pinot Noir on nine different days from September 14th through the 28th.

Harvest Date(s): September 14th-28th
Vinification

Aging: 10 months in 100% French oak; 82% neutral and 18% new

Technical Information
Varietal Composition: 100% Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Alcohol: 13.7%
TA: 6.04 g/L

Tasting Notes
The wine has a beautiful vibrant red color, and a deep brooding aroma reminiscent of dried herbs, toasted hazelnuts, and blood orange peel. The flavors are bright from acidity, and deep from concentration at the same time having flavors of shiitake mushrooms, bay laurel, lavender, and cooked red and blackberries. The wine is amazingly complex, bright, rich, and inviting.
About Routestock Cellars
RouteStock creates wines from classic grape varieties grown along well-known routes in the world's most respected wine regions. Tried, trusted and true to their routes, these wines are hand crafted by our winemakers to be approachable and a reliable favorite.

Route 29: Route 29 travels through the heart of Napa Valley -- a lovely home for Sauvignon Blanc. On a drive down Route 29 you will pass many of the vineyards that supplied grapes for this Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

Route 121: Route 121 meanders through Carneros ("ram" in Spanish), a region once known for its sheep populations. On a drive down Route 121 you will pass many of the vineyards that supplied perfectly ripe grapes for this Carneros Chardonnay.

Carneros is well-known as a cool-climate region, perfect for growing Chardonnay. The morning fog and afternoon breezes off the chilly San Pablo Bay cool the region, while the Napa and Sonoma valleys to the north heat it up. This heat causes the air to draw inland over Carneros, drying the vines of the moist morning fog. As night falls, the fog rolls in, protecting the vines from potential morning sun.

Route 99W: Established in 1930, Route 99W is part of the Pacific Coast Highway which travels north/south through some of Willamette Valley's most notable vineyards. On a drive down Route 99W, you will pass many of the vineyards that supplied perfectly ripe grapes for this Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.

Route 29: Route 29 travels through the heart of Napa Valley, which is arguably a perfect home for Cabernet Sauvignon. On a drive down Route 29, you will pass many of the vineyards that supplied perfectly ripe grapes for this Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
