"Pale gold with a steady bead. Lime, pear and floral aromas are complicated by tarragon, smoke and talc. Dry, sharply focused citrus flavors are firmed by refreshingly bitter lime zest and white pepper notes. A brisk, grown-up style of bubbly, which you'd never guess from the packaging, which looks like it came out of a Conan the Barbarian comic. Pull this Dungeons & Dragons-looking, pewter-decked bottle out and watch your date call for a taxi. It won't matter because this is packaging worthy of a Dungeon Master, and you're used to drinking alone, anyway! Serve this in a skull-shaped tankard."

"The expensive Reserva Heredad is hand-riddled and hand-disgorged. Light gold-colored, it offers wheat-thin aromas and lemon-lime flavors with excellent concentration. The finish is crisp and clean."
"Like a rich Chardonnay with bubbles, this limited production Cava rests on an authentic pewter base and comes in a handsome hand-blown bottle emblazoned with a metal crest of the Segura Viudas family." ~ Winery Notes
Segura ViudasView all from Segura Viudas
The Segura Viudas estate has roots dating back to the 11th century. It started as an inhabited watchtower, and was later converted into a Catalan country house in the 13th century, growing all kinds of crops for the local monastery, including wine grapes.
In the 1850's it began crafting cavas, becoming the winery that continues to earn its reputation as one of the world's top producers of sparkling wines to this day. The Ferrer family of Barcelona, expert producers of sparkling wine for over 100 years, purchased the Segura Viudas estate in the early 1980s.
