Soléna is a combination of Spanish and French words Solana and Soleil, celebrating the sun, the moon and cycles of life. We were launched in May of 2000 when our owners purchased our 80-acre estate, and began a wine label named Soléna after their daughter.
Soléna Estate showcases the beauty of terroir in our site-specific wines. We're well known for consistent, ageable Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Visit our picturesque vineyard and tasting room in Yamhill and raise a glass to celebrate friends, family, and life!
Soléna Estate showcases the beauty of terroir in our site-specific wines. We craft delicious wine from our own estate vineyards in Yamhill-Carlton and McMinnville AVAs, as well as iconic single vineyards around the Northwest. We're well known for consistent, ageable Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Cabernet Sauvignon. However, our entrepreneurial spirit means we’re always expanding our offerings.
After successful careers in the Oregon wine industry, the husband and wife team of Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu purchased an 80-acre estate to commemorate their marriage in 2000. In May 2002, they launched Soléna by bottling their first vintage of Domaine Danielle Laurent Pinot Noir and, shortly thereafter, opening a tasting room in Carlton. Soléna is the combination of the Spanish and French words Solana and Soleil, celebrating the sun and the moon, and the name that Laurent and Danielle gave to their daughter.
Soléna Estate began as a way to explore winemaking with other varietals grown in neighboring appellations while the family's young Domaine Danielle Laurent vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton District matured. In May 2007, Danielle and Laurent added the spectacular 100-acre Hyland Vineyard in the McMinnville AVA to their estate vineyard holdings. Today, Laurent and Danielle are producing Pinot Noir from their estate vineyards as well as Pinot Gris, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Late Harvest Riesling from select sites throughout Oregon and Washington.
Join us at the new Soléna tasting room to explore the Old World warmth and elegance that accommodates the ultimate in state-of-the-art winemaking technology.
Laurent & Danielle Montalieu:
Our Story
In May of 2000, Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu purchased an 80- acre estate as their wedding gift to each other and registered with premium nurseries for six different clones of Pinot Noir vines as wedding gifts. They named the wedding vineyard, Domaine Danielle Laurent. While waiting for their own vines to mature, the Montalieus purchased fruit from various vineyards, and named their new label after their daughter, Soléna.
