"The 2015 Brut Rosé Mineral Springs comes from biodynamically farmed grapes and is made up of 86% Pinot Noir and 14% Chardonnay. Pale to medium salmon-pink in color, it has a pretty nose of white strawberry, rhubarb and fresh raspberries with notions of stone, lime pith and baking bread. Medium-bodied, it’s dry (3.6 grams per liter dosage) with pretty berry fruit, finely textured mousse and a long, fresh finish. This is a very pretty, fresh, approachable style. It was aged on the lees for almost four years. Disgorgement dates are listed on the bottle."

James Suckling 93
"– A blend of pinot noir (80%) and chardonnay (20%) with still red wine added back to create the blush. The nose has a very fresh attitude with fresh, sliced-strawberry and bready notes from a four-year rest on lees in bottle. The palate has bright, crunchy red-strawberry flavors and a smooth core of fruit with good volume. Drink now."

The Wine
Soter Vineyards makes it home at Mineral Springs Ranch in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. 30 acres of Pinot Noir and 2 acres of Chardonnay are sustainably farmed here, resulting in wines of the highest quality and caliber. Mineral Springs Vineyard wines are imbued with an indelible exoticism and varietal purity.

Mineral Springs Ranch is a 240-acre parcel of woodland and grazing land dotted with ancient Oregon white oak savannas. The enitire property is operated as a certified sustainable farm, home to 500 sheep and a 30-acre planting of Pinot Noir that occupies the ridge top and adjacent slopes at an elevation of 400 feet. These vines are rooted in ancient sedimentary soils derived from fractured marine sandstone.

The combined effect of superb exposure, elevation, excellent drainage and the cool North-western Oregon climate create the potential for consistently great wines. There is no doubt that experienced and dedicated farming, along with careful craftsmanship contribute to the result, but from its very first vintage this vineyard has expressed its own singular voice. The wines are compelling expressions of a place destined to be recognized as one of the great sites for new world Pinot Noir.

The Estate
In the mid-1980s, Tony Soter began working as a consulting winemaker in the Napa Valley, assisting luminaries such as Araujo, Niebaum-Coppola, Shafer, Spottswoode, Viader and Dalla Valle. In 1982, he established his own winery – Etude – where he focused on Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon of noteworthy caliber and artisan focus. After years of mentoring and encouraging some of Napa Valley’s most respected growers and winemakers, he ended his consulting roles to focus exclusively on Soter Vineyards and his family in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. The Soter’s sole Estate vineyard today, Mineral Springs Ranch, is a 240-acre savanna-like oak woodland and grazing land located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. It is the home to 30 acres of Pinot Noir originally planted in 2002. Two acres of Chardonnay were included in the 2006 plantings and are devoted entirely to method champenoise sparkling wine production. Located just east of the town of Carlton, the ranch is perched on a mesa with gentle slopes and commanding views of the surrounding Yamhill-Carlton District. Our production facilities and hospitality buildings are here as well, allowing us complete control of all operations.
