“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. Deep purple-black in color, it opens with notions of crushed black cherries, warm blackberries and mulberries with hints of unsmoked cigars, fragrant soil and wild sage plus a waft of allspice. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with expressive black berry and earthy layers with a frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with an herbal lift.”

James Suckling 92
“Very attractive, violet-like floral character with fresh, leafy notes and upbeat blackcurrants in this opulent cab. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a gorgeously long finish. Drink or hold.”

Wine & Spirits 91
“This is a pan–Napa Valley blend with only one percent coming from SLWC’s estate vineyards, but Marcus Notaro managed to fashion the wine so the tannins parallel the dark-chocolate-ganache character of fine Stags Leap District cabernet. Layer that over fresh raspberry, blackberry and sweet plum flavors, tighten it up with some smoky oak tannins, and you’ll have a sense of what’s in store when you open this bottle, whether now or in three years.”

The story of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is now legendary. Founded in 1970, the winery was thrust into the spotlight when a bottle of the 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stag's Leap Vineyard won the now-famous 1976 Paris Tasting, besting some of France's greatest wines. The historic tasting, which has become known as the Judgment of Paris, fundamentally transformed how California wines were viewed worldwide. And the stunning victory over renowned wines of Bordeaux launched Stag's Leap Wine Cellars into the ranks of the world's most noteworthy Cabernet Sauvignon producers. Over the years, the wines of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars have become some of the most highly regarded and collected wines worldwide.

The winery is also recognized for its Napa Valley Collection of wines including ARTEMIS Cabernet Sauvignon and KARIA Chardonnay. Estate fruit combines with grapes from other distinctive sites , adding layers of flavors and complexity. Together, they create wines that express the regional character of Napa Valley with the signature style of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. It's an approach that results in wines of lush fruit balanced by extraordinary structure and elegance.
