"The vine cultivation around the town of Lamezia Terme is very old, dating back to 2000 BC, when the Phoenicians introduced it along the coasts of Calabria. This blend of 40%Gaglioppo, 40% Greco Nero, and 20% Nerello Cappuccio comes from the DOC of Lamezia Calabria. The nose is intense and complex, with dark notes of black cherry, plum, cocoa, tobacco, Indian ink and spices. The palate is balanced and soft showing dark and red fruits with a little spice." ~ Winery notes
StattiView all from Statti
Statti is convinced a great wine starts in the vineyard. Since the 18th century, the Statti family has lived on the same vine-growing land and has a deep, historic understanding of the vineyards in the heart of the "Enotria Tellus", the ancient name for Calabria, meaning land of wine. Over the last 15 years, Statti has been devoted to its 100 hectares of vineyards running along the slope of a hillside that protects it from the maritime winds. It is only through a long-established dedication to the vineyards and to their care throughout the cultivation process that Statti can create the conditions in which great Calabrian wines can be made.
