There is a great core of black plum and dark berry to the nose of this blend of 48 Syrah, 32 Grenache, 16 Mourvdre and 4 Counoise, but also a fresh rose-petal component. Its brisk on the palate with crisp damson plum, raspberry and melon flavors, accented by a slight gravel minerality.-WE

A lovely version of a Chteauneuf GSM with some Counoise added. Silky and bright with flavorful notes of cherry and raspberry. Charming, balanced, and long.-TP

A lovely nose, very Syrah, of pine forest, pancetta, blackberry, and dried herbs. The mouth is juicier than the nose suggests, with smoky blackberry, licorice root, crushed rock, and saddle leather, with chalky tannins and flavors of black cherry and freshly turned earth that come out on the finish. Delicious now, but still fleshing out, and with the substance and balance to age for up to a decade.-Winemaker Notes

Tablas Creek is a pioneer of Californias Rhone movement. Founded in 1989, it is the culmination of a friendship between two of the international wine communitys leading families dating back to 1967: the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel and the Haas family of Vineyard Brands. After a four-year search, the partners chose Paso Robles, California for its many similarities to the Southern Rhone and began the lengthy process of importing vine cuttings, building a grapevine nursery, and creating an estate vineyard from the ground up.
