Wonderful perfumes to this wine with hints of hot stone, blackberry, orange peel and nectarine on the nose. Full body, with a beautiful concentration of fruit and compacted tannins. The texture is every so silky and fine. It goes on for minutes. A beauty. Hot stone character at the finish too. A gorgeous and friendly wine. Drink or hold. (12/2014)

The elegant 2010 Brunello di Montalcino shows an impressive degree of inner grace and harmony. This wine expresses itself articulately with the softest tones. No part of its message is too loud. In fact, it whispers seductively with small fruit aromas, forest bramble, root beer, dried herb and balsam notes. The effect is feminine and finessed. Polished tannins make way for fresh acidity and long persistency. This Brunello sees 30 months of aging in large oak casks and is fermented with indigenous yeasts.

Mustafa

Pretty average

"Maybe it's go thru a phase right now but not too expressive and a bit closed on nose and palate. Better Italian values out there"

Renato

Not great

"Not a great brunello. Average to subpar. A good chianti take you farther for less. Would not buy again. Based on two bottles"

Andrew

Not as full-bodied as anticipated

"Not the dynamite vintage that I expected based on reviews."

Thomas

Thin and Understated

"It has taken me too long and too many dollars to realize that something is seriously amiss with Empire's 90 and above rating. Not to be trusted. This is a $30 bottle of wine, literally pales in comparison to a cheap $8 Cab: thin and pale in the glass--hardly a reflection of my take on Brunellos as lush, deep, and fully satisfying."

Thomas

"I'm not sure If I got a bad case, but the 2 bottles I've opened were slightly fizzy. This along with that its a much lighter Brunello than I am used to. Very disappointed as I should have tried the wine before getting a case."
