"Lurid violet. Ripe blackberry, cherry and candied violet on the spice-accented nose. Juicy, energetic dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors show very good depth and supple texture. A peppery note adds bite to the focused finish, which is framed by dusty, gently gripping tannins. - By Josh Raynolds on September 2022"

"This McLaren Vale Cabernet opens with a mlange of aromas like ripe plum, savory herbs, tomato leaf, tree bark, iodine and mint. There's quite a bit of oak influence, too. In the mouth, tannins are sinewy and drying and the acidity is shrill, making the fruit feel a touch sour. A tangy umami note lingers on the finish. A varietally expressive wine but one with pointy elbows."

Tasting Notes
This wine displays the trademark Cabernet Sauvignon characters; rich and generously loaded with dark cherry, mulberry and black currant fruits with oak spice and fine long tannins. This delicious, dense and fruit packed wine will complement a wide variety of meal choices, especially red meat, pasta and slow braised dishes.

" The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes used to make this wine have been sourced from select vineyards in McLaren Vale, including those planted on the original Goss property. With dominant winter rainfall, warm, dry summers that are tempered by the proximity to the Gulf St. Vincent and low humidity, McLaren Vale has one of the most consistent climates in which to grow premium wine grapes, particularly Shiraz. Due to the optimal ripening periods during February and March, vintage 2016 has delivered exceptional quality and balance.

About:
One of the original McLaren Vale pioneers, Thomas Goss, his wife Mary and their children arrived in South Australia from Devonshire in 1849. After success in the Victorian gold fields he established an iconic farming property in McLaren Vale which is now home to some of the regions leading vineyards. These wines, crafted by winemaker Ben Riggs, are a tribute to Thomas Gosss contribution to our beloved region.

McLaren Vale has an unrivalled reputation in Australia and indeed the world, for constantly producing first-class wines. It has one of the most consistent, Mediterranean-style climates in which to grow premium wine grapes.

The unequivocally cool climate of the Adelaide Hills and very old podsolic soils of low to moderate fertility make for ideal growing conditions. This gives the region an enviable and growing reputation for magnificent white grapes. " ~ Winery notes
About Thomas Goss
One of the original McLaren Vale pioneers, Thomas Goss, his wife Mary and their children arrived in South Australia from Devonshire in 1849. After success in the Victorian gold fields he established an iconic farming property in McLaren Vale which is now home to some of the region's leading vineyards.

In 1993, Tony Parkinson purchased 37 acres of original Goss farming land which had been planted to vines in 1991. This was to become the Malpas Road Vineyard. In 1996 more original Goss land was purchased, planted and named Goss Corner Vineyard.

In 1998, Keith Rowland, great-great-grandson of Thomas Goss sold the Ingleburne homestead property to Tony Parkinson to convert to cellars for Penny's Hill, from which Thomas Goss wines would later be sold. This purchase reunited the original Thomas Goss section (80 acres) of farming land.

These wines, crafted by winemaker Ben Riggs, are a tribute to Thomas Goss's contribution to our beloved region. McLaren Vale has an unrivalled reputation in Australia and indeed the world, for constantly producing first-class wines.
