"The 2014 Zinfandel Dragon Vineyard is intensely mineral and savory in style, with tons of graphite, smoke, black cherry, menthol, lavender and sage pushed forward. The aromatics alone are utterly beguiling, but the firm, insistent tannins suggest it will be at least a few years before the 2014 is ready to offer its finest drinking. -- Antonio Galloni"

About
Dragon Vineyard is a certified organic, estate vineyard. Planted at 2400 feet at one of the highest points on Howell Mountain, the vineyard sits well above the fog line and faces east. These important features, along with the rocky, red volcanic soil, make for a very unique, full-bodied and powerful Zinfandel that is always Larry’s favorite since it goes with what he likes to cook: bold, flavorful, spice-driven meats on an open fire. As with all our mountain wines, we recommend a quick decant if you want to enjoy it in the near future!

Turley Wine Cellars

View all from Turley Wine Cellars
Turley Wine CellarsTurley Wine Cellars was founded in Napa Valley by Larry Turley in 1993. Because Larry has never met an old vine vineyard he didn't like, Turley now makes 34 separate wines from 38 different vineyards, some with vines that date back to the late 1800s. Often weak and decaying, these old vine vineyards require extra care and attention in order to restore them to their former glory. After twenty-five years as an emergency room physician, Larry can now focus his resuscitative skills on the various old vineyards that comprise the wines he loves. All of the vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and only natural yeasts are used in the fermentations. By focusing on old vine Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California's unique winemaking culture.
