The Wine
The grapes of Tzoras Shoresh Red are sourced from small blocks of rocky soil from the estate-grown Shoresh Vineyard. On this shallow and poor soil the vines strive for nutrition, which results in concentrated grapes with an array of flavors. This is a rich blend of Syrah (60), Cabernet Sauvignon (20), Petit Verdot (10), and Merlot (10) showing flavors of dark fruit and spices. The wine shows beautiful and harmonious texture. Shoresh was bottled after an aging period of 14 months in French oak barriques. The wine could be enjoyed now and will continue to improve in the bottle for many years to come.

The Estate
The Judean Hills, where Tzora Vineyards resides, rise sharply from the coastal plain, and exhibit ideal growing conditions for growing wine grapes. Terraces cling to this rugged area in a multitude of directions as they follow the contours of the steep slopes. Cold winters, sharp temperature drops during the short summer nights and early morning summer mists, as well as variations in soils from rocky limestone outcrops to ones rich in minerals, all contribute to the character, the balance and the great longevity of the wines.

Tzora Vineyards wines are produced from estate grown vineyards and the wines reflect the Judean Hills unique terroir. The wines are named accordingly: Judean Hills Red and Blanc, which reflect the historical wine region of Judean Hills; Shoresh Red and Blanc, produced from grapes on ancient terraces of Shoresh vineyard; and the flagship wine Misty Hills, which is being produced from a unique plot with an exceptional terroir.

Winemaker Eran Pick studied at UC-Davis and is the first Israeli to complete the Master of Wine. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the winemaking at Tzora. Jean-Claude Berrouet of Chateau Petrus is a consultant with Tzora as well. Berrouet says, My idea is that together with Tzora Vineyards we wish to develop a wine that tells a sincere, authentic story of the local soil and climate through people who share their passion, ability and experience.
