VRAC, or en vrac" translates to bring your own bottle. In many French villages, locals will bring bottles or jugs to a
nearby winery and
fill them up with an easy drinking wine to use as their house wine.
VRAC Ros is made from fruit grown in the Pays des Maures and the Pays de la Mediterrane, in the heart of Provence.
Pays des Maures (Country of the Moors) is a zone that extends, from west to east, from Toulon to Frjus. It is bounded on
the west by Gapeau and Ral Martin; to the east by the Argens, by the Mediterranean to the south. The wine of this area is
known for its spicy
flavors and highly aromatic fruit.
The juice is bled from the macerating fruit (saigne in French) at the perfect moment to optimize the color and
from the skins, and is left to ferment in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures for a long, cool fermentation.
