Château Pibran estate benefits from a prestigious, 17-hectare terroir on one of Pauillac's most beautiful hilltops. The wines benefit from exceptional support, with the vinification process and technical monitoring both carried out by the Château Pichon Baron team.
The winemaking process of the Pibran is managed by the Pichon Baron team, so this is the best that second-best gets. It's an extremely selective process in deciding which grapes go into the grand vin of Pichon Baron, and then, lucky for us, a good amount of "leftovers" goes into the Pibran. The vineyards of Chateau Pibran also get an assist terroir-wise by being a neighbor to revered Mouton Rothschild and Lynch-Bages
Wine Spectator 90"There's lots of currant and blackberry in this, with hints of sandalwood. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins that turn chewy, but also a solid core of fruit underneath, with new wood. Structured and serious. Best after 2012." ~J.S.
2ND WINE OF CHÂTEAU PIBRAN “Château Pibran is located between Château Mouton Rothschild and Pontet Canet. Vinified by the team at Pichon Baron and aged at Chateau Pibran, the aromas reveal scents of spices, cigar box, vanilla and fruit such as blackberries. On the palate, the tannins are fleshy
Robert Parker 90 "A major sleeper of the vintage, this under-the-radar Pauillac from the owners of Pichon Longueville Baron comes from a 42-acre vineyard, and the blend is divided equally between two grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Classic smoky barbecue notes intermixed with cassis, forest
Wine Spectator 92"There's such beauty to this, with mineral, currant, black licorice and berry on the nose. Full-bodied, with supervelvety tannins and a long, long finish. The best Pibran in a long time. Best after 2012. 4,500 cases made."
