Kanonkop Estate Winery

Where the big guns roar
Kanonkop derives its name from the "kopje" (hill) from which a cannon was fired to alert surrounding farmers of trading ships stopping in Cape Town. Fourth generation estate proprietors, Johann and Paul Krige, have one simple aim: to maintain their "First Growth" status. And with wines such as their famous Pinotage and Paul Sauer consistently being recognized as some of the best reds on the market, their acclaim is well deserved.
