Fred Loimer studied winemaking at Klosterneuburg followed by stints in Germany's Nahe and the Walter Schug winery in California. In 1997, Fred returned to his family's estate, and in 1998, purchased the former cellar of the Haindorf Castle. Fred constructed a hyper-modern black cube on top of the old cellar symbolizing his aesthetic for modern elegance, an aesthetic that is also reflected in his wines. Fred began practicing biodynamics in 2006 and is a founding member of Respekt. a certifying body for biodynamic viticulture in Austria. Fred's wines are among the very best examples of GrĂ¼ner Veltliner, Riesling, and Pinot Noir in the Kamptal.
