Tenshen Winery

What do you look for when you peruse the Wine Spectator Top 100 list? We'd guess most people look first for wines they've tasted or own, or perhaps for wineries they've visited. My guess is that the next search is for value.

Coming in at # 29 on the 2015 list is a $20 wine that carries value in spades. Here's the WS writeup for the Tenshen White, Santa Barbara County, 2014:

"Last year, winemaker Joey Tensley and importer and vintner Alex Guarachi teamed up to release an exciting new red blend called Tenshen. This year they followed that with an equally exciting white version. It's a Rhone-style white with a twist- Viognier, Roussanne and Grenache Blanc are blended with Chardonnay. Tensley ages the wine in a mix of neutral oak and stainless steel, resulting in a juicy white that's also a great value. 3,500 cases made. 92 points, $20."
