Tilia Wines

Made at Bodegas Esmeralda, Tilia has been handcrafted to demonstrate true varietal character. The brand is named after the Tilia (Linden) tree commonly found throughout Argentina's wine country. Vineyard workers often make tea from the flowers of this tree and enjoy time sitting in the shade after a hard day's work. These wines are a tribute to those workers and to the Argentinean way of living life to the fullest, enjoying every moment and relaxing in the natural environment the land provides. These inviting selections are approachable, affordable and filled with layers of flavor.

Tilia Bonarda 2015
The Tilia 2015 Bonarda feels riper and there is little less acidity than in the 2014 vintage. Bonarda cannot really be harvested very early, as it's a late ripening variety, so what they do in warmer vintages is to use a bit more fruit from the Uco Valley (up to 15% here), which is a fresher zone.

Wine Advocate 89 The 2013 Bonarda is sourced mostly from old parral vineyards in eastern Mendoza with some grapes from the south of the province. It fermented in stainless steel with 20% inner staves. Ripe plums, dark cherries and some spices. The palate is juicy, with good acidity and character.

Tilia Malbec 2013
90  Wine Advocate
Wine Advocate 90 The 2013 Malbec is produced with a mixture of grapes from eastern Mendoza and the Uco Valley. Some full clusters are used in the fermentation and it might be the reason for those bright showy aromas of red cherries and strawberries and a tone of those telltale violet notes the
