One of the most requested wines of 2012 has been the 2010 Cuvee Prestige from Chateau Puech Haut. The winery has received much attention in recent vintages and Robert Parker proclaimed the 2009 vintage of this wine to be one of the most "amazing values" he has ever tasted. The wines were once made by the great Michel Rolland. Now, they are created by Chateauneuf du Pape's Phillipe Cambie. Cuvee Prestige is made exclusively for American markets by Cambie and importer Eric Solomon. It is one of many custom cuvee's imported by Solomon's company, European Cellars.
It is a full bodied, luscious red with no hard edges. The wine is complex and aromatic with notes of dark fruits, herbs, chocolate, and spice. The 2010 Cuvee Prestige was rated 94 points by Jeb Dunnuck in the Rhone Report. He called it an "absurd value" and proclaimed that it should "be purchased by the case." It was also rated 92+ points in the International Wine Report with a note that it was an "exceptional example of the quality and value" of the vintage. Consumers love the wine as well, it has an average 90.7 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 9 notes on Cellar Tracker.
